The National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) is an annual competition initiated by Padma Shri Prof. HC Verma under the aegis of The National Anveshika Network of India (NANI). It focuses on enhancing students' observational, analytical, and experimental skills in physics. This portal, developed in collaboration with Shiksha Sopan, serves as a comprehensive educational platform supporting a seamless experience for participants, organizers, and evaluators. The platform hosts the competition for two groups: Junior (grades 9 to 12) and Senior (college students pursuing pure sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate levels).

Challenges and Learnings

Developing a scalable and reliable platform that could handle the surge of users during the competition posed significant challenges. Ensuring security and privacy of student data was another priority. We overcame these by implementing Firebase Authentication and optimizing server calls for efficiency. Collaborating with domain experts, including Prof. HC Verma, helped us gain insights into educational challenges and design user-friendly solutions.

Outcome

The NAEST platform transformed how the competition is conducted by digitalizing processes and enhancing engagement. The system supported over 5000 students nationwide with an intuitive interface, secure data handling, and automated performance insights, earning widespread recognition from educators and participants alike.
